Carroll Channer, 93, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Friday, August 29, 2025, at Edgewood in Columbus.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 3, at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Joel Ripke officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue Wednesday, from 9:30 AM until service time, at the church. The family prayer service will be at 10:15 AM on Wednesday, at the church. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Hartman Post 84.

Carroll Gordon Channer was born on June 12, 1932, in Primrose, Nebraska, to James and Margaret (Petersen) Channer Sr. The family moved to Columbus and Carroll graduated from Kramer High School in 1950. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War until his honorable discharge. On July 1, 1956, Carroll was united in marriage to Nana Cumming at Salem Lutheran Church.

Carroll worked as a welder at various manufacturing plants in the Columbus area and later worked at the Schuyler meat packing plant. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

Four grandchildren
