Brad was born June 3, 1953, to Donald and Barbara (Carlson) Minchow in Lincoln. He attended elementary and high school at Waverly, Nebraska and graduated in 1971. Brad was a 4H member, FFA member and officer, State Farmer, Area Star Farmer, SE Area State FFA Officer, Concert Choir and Mixed Chorus Member, played drums in band, and played football, basketball and track.

Brad graduated from UNL in 1975 with a degree in Agriculture Education and taught Ag and Welding in Tekamah, Nebraska for three years. On Dec. 27, 1975 Brad married Kathy Brock at St. Paul’s, Leigh. They just celebrated 50 years together in Galen, Illinois with their two children: Kelly Kuhfuss(Dax) and Kevin Minchow(Cristiane) and granddaughter, Katelyn Kuhfuss(Grandpa’s Girl).

Brad enjoyed doing so many things—farming with his dad, brother, uncles and cousins, 4-H and FFA, fraternity life at Alpha Gamma Sigma where he and Kathy met, bowling, playing pool, science fiction books and movies, movies of all kinds, trivia, board games, poker with friends, “farming” his three acres of grass, tent camping with family(he was the campfire manager), photography, throwing horseshoes, bow fishing, fishing with Gene Hoessel and GOLF! He bowled in a league in Platte Center but when he retired the focus became his yard and golfing in the Tuesday Night league at Steepleview in Humphrey, Nebraska.

Brad was a farmer first at home, taught, then managed a hog confinement unit, worked in Parts Department at Red Country, was the Receiver for Tractor Supply Co. in Columbus. He was a member of St. Paul’s Church, Leigh, served on church council, and belonged to Eagles Club. But most of all, Brad loved spending time with his family. He delighted in his granddaughter, Katelyn Kuhfuss, and loved spending time with her.

Brad is survived by his wife, Kathy Minchow of Columbus, NE; mother, Barbara Minchow of Lincoln, NE; mother-in-law, Marilyn Brock of Columbus, NE; daughter Kelly(Dax) Kuhfuss and granddaughter Katelyn of Minneapolis, MN; son Kevin(Cristiane) Minchow of Lafayette, IN; sister Laura(Russ) Grieser of Lincoln, NE; uncle Jerry(Marty)Minchow, Lincoln, NE; brothers in law Rich(Lila)Brock, Platte Center, NE and Jim(Jean)Brock, Creston, NE; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Brad was preceded in death by his father, Don; sister, Kathy; brother in law, Alan; brother, Todd, and uncles Walt Jr. and Bill.
