Bonnie Abbott, 85, of Marquette, Nebraska, died Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Bryan LGH West Campus in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The funeral will be on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 10:30 AM, at Christ Lutheran Church rural Columbus with Rev. Richard A. Kothe officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until service time at the church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Christ Lutheran Church or School, or to the family for later designation.
Bonetta "Bonnie" Jean Abbott was born April 24, 1939, in rural Columbus, Nebraska, to Reinhard and Hulda (Wilke) Henke. She was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church. Bonnie graduated from Columbus High School and went to nursing school in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduating from nursing school, Bonnie worked in Omaha before being united in marriage to Dennis Stangel in September 1962. In 1979, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Abbott. Bonnie's registered nursing career gave her the opportunity to work in several area hospitals, with most of her career at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Bonnie loved flowers and her flower gardens. She cherished her time with her children and grandchildren, which included attending many events and birthdays, with a Hershey Bar in hand. She loved watching the old black and white shows, and spending time on the acreage, watching the horses run through the pasture.

Brother-in-law – Gary Lanka of Loup City, NE
