Bill "Willie" Semrau, 77, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Friday, September 10, 2021 at Emerald Care & Rehab in Columbus.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 18, at 11:00 AM, at Gass Haney Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Lassen officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. The funeral service will be broadcast live on the Gass Haney Facebook page. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery.

Bill was born on September 23, 1943, in Columbus, to William and Sarah (Imhoff) Semrau. He grew up and attended school in Columbus. Bill worked on his parents' farm near Bellwood and especially enjoyed helping raising goats there and at the farm under the viaduct in Columbus. He enjoyed gardening, babysitting his nieces and nephews through the years, and watching old TV shows, especially Gunsmoke and the Andy Griffith Show.
