Aurilie "Kay" Brown, 83, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Friday, August 14, 2026, at Genoa Long Term Care, Genoa, Nebraska.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 18 at 2:00 PM, at Shell Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Ben Jones officiating.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery.  Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue from 1:00 PM until service time at the church on Tuesday.  Memorials are suggested to the church music fund or donor's choice.

Aurilie Kay Brown, Kay to most, was born July 5, 1943, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Leonard and LaVerne (Adamy) Mohrmann.  She was a life long member of Shell Creek Baptist Church north of Columbus where she was baptized and confirmed.  After graduating from Columbus High School, Kay went to Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas, and also Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska, earning her Bachelor Degree in Education.  She taught at Clarkson Elementary School in Fremont, Nebraska until 1982.  Kay did volunteer work and loved to play the piano for church, funerals, senior center gatherings, etc.  She enjoyed playing Bingo, working crossword puzzles, and reading her devotion daily - morning, noon and night.

Great Grandchildren - Aaron, Kaylin, Waylon, Braedon, Aria, Serena and Ryker
Brother - James (Jan) Mohrmann of Lincoln, NE
