Arthur William Schreiber III was born on September 1, 1954, in Columbus, Nebraska to Arthur M. and Mary Lou (Reitmeyer) Schreiber Jr. He grew up in rural Columbus and graduated from Lakeview High School in 1972. On February 14, 1976, Art was united in marriage to Shelley Bakenhus at Christ Lutheran Church.
Art spent his life doing what he loved most — trucking. Over the years, he worked at Wayne Feeds, Viesseman Trucking, and later proudly served as Lead Truck Driver for Mullenhoff Trucking through REDSTAR, LLC. Being behind the wheel wasn’t just a career to him, it was his true passion. He took great pride in the miles he traveled, the people he worked alongside, and the dedication he brought to the road every single day.
Outside of truck driving, Art enjoyed raising hogs, landscaping, reading newspapers, keeping up with Fox News, and loved watching Husker volleyball. Farming was also something Art loved and enjoyed doing throughout his life.
Above all else, Art deeply loved his grandchildren and was proud of each one of them. Whether it was attending cattle shows, cheering them on at sporting events, supporting their love for agriculture, or spending time together in Arizona, those moments meant the world to him.
