Arnold "Arnie" A. Romberg, 84, of Columbus, Nebraska, died September 15, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 19th, at Gass Haney Funeral Home with Rev. Chris McArdle officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 9:30 AM until service time. Interment will be in the Columbus Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or family's choice.

Arnie was born on November 9, 1931, to Alfred and Stella (Nelson) Romberg in rural Platte County, (south of Monroe) Nebraska. He attended country school near Monroe until the age of nine when his family moved to a farm near Newman Grove, Nebraska. He attended country grade school in this area and then graduated from Newman Grove High School. On January 27, 1951, Arnie was united in marriage to Beverly Miller at the United Methodist Church in Albion. Arnie worked at the Columbus Hatchery before the couple moved back to Newman Grove where they farmed. In 1956, Arnie and Bev moved to Albion, Nebraska, and took over Bev's father's business, Miller Mobile Homes. They operated the mobile home business for over 20 years and the Albion Liquor Store for about 10 years. In 1988, they moved to Columbus where Arnie returned to work at the Columbus Hatchery until 1991.

Son: Mike (Barb) Romberg of Waverly, NE
Daughter: Nancy Romberg Powers of Albion, NE
Son: Mark (Tammie) Romberg of Columbus, NE
Six Grandchildren
Eleven Great–Grandchildren

Arnie was preceded in death by:
Parents: Alfred and Stella Romberg
Granddaughter: Stacey Romberg
Grandson: Brett Romberg
Three Sisters: Katherine Mae, Arlene, Ruth
