Anna Mae "Ann" (Meyer) Kudrna was born February 2, 1938, in Stanton County, Nebraska, to William and Laura (Schulz) Meyer. She attended school in Stanton County and graduated from Howells High School in 1956. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Howells. Ann went on to attend summer school at Concordia Teacher's College in Seward, Nebraska and served as a schoolteacher in Stanton County, Platte County, and Zion Lutheran School in Leigh for seven years before leaving the profession to serve as a full-time housewife and mother. She married Donald L. Kudrna on June 17, 1959, celebrating 64 years of marriage this past June 17.

Ann maintained a deep love of working with children throughout her life and spent several years working at local daycares and childcare centers and leading crafts for vacation Bible school. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and gardening and she helped with 4-H activities for many years. Ann also served as the secretary/treasurer of Aid Association for Lutherans (now Thrivent) for 31 years and was active in her church's sewing circle.

Don and Ann enjoyed traveling throughout their marriage and visited all fifty states together, as well as several Canadian provinces and Latin American countries. Ann also loved spending time with her grandchildren and caring for the many farm cats she raised throughout her life.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, William and Laura Meyer; her daughter, Paulette (Kudrna) Comer; her son, James Kudrna; and her son-in-law, Mike Bayer. Ann had the joy of going to her heavenly home on the same day of the year as her son James, June 21.

Ann is survived by her husband, Don Kudrna, of Marysville, KS; one daughter, Roxanne (Kudrna) Bayer of Marysville, KS; four granddaughters, Karlie (Bill) Nuss of Norfolk, NE; Sarah (Jarod) Phillips of Seward, NE; Meranda Kudrna of Columbus, NE; and April Bayer of Lincoln, NE; one sister, Carolyn (Al) Hagerbaumer of Hooper, NE; and various cousins, nieces, and nephews.
