Alvin Schwalm, 77, of Monroe, Nebraska, died Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Genoa Long Term Care Center in Genoa, Nebraska.

Alvin Schwalm was born August 30, 1946, in Greeley, Colorado, to Alvin and Helena (Van Schooten) Schwalm.  He graduated from Merino High School, Merino, Colorado, attended the Colorado School of Mines, and Pacific University where he studied computer science.  Alvin enlisted into the United States Air Force on May 18, 1966, and was honorably discharged on March 19, 1970, serving during the Vietnam War.  On December 20, 1970, Alvin was united in marriage to Betty Heimbegner.  The couple adopted two boys and lived in Texas before moving to Monroe in 1996.  Alvin was a computer programmer for Buffalo Farm Equipment.  He enjoyed restoring cars, race cars, and flying – having his own pilot's license.

Two sons – William and Frank
Six Grandchildren
Sister – Annette Rodkey of Thorton, CO
