Mable A. Luchsinger, 89, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Sunday, September 28, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Columbus. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 1, at 10:30 AM at St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Columbus with Rev.'s Hal & Connie Garlick officiating. Interment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue on Wednesday from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM with a 10:15 AM family prayer service at St. Luke's Church. Memorials are suggested to St. Luke's Church or the donors choice. Mable Luchsinger was born February 20, 1919, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Henry and Anna (Morkert) Keller. She attended Richland and Schuyler grade schools and Kramer High School in Columbus. She married Herbert Luchsinger, Sr. on June 3, 1936, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus. They farmed on the Luchsinger home place until 1960 when they moved to Columbus where they lived until moving to a farm they purchased north of Columbus in November of 1987. Mable was a homemaker and also worked at Becton Dickinson for 22 years. She was a member of the Lady Slipper Club and was an active member of the BD Alumni Association. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, bowling, quilting, collecting dolls and small lamps, and loved to dance. She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was currently a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ.
