Elmer Moeller, 94, of Milford, Nebraska, formerly of Leigh, Nebraska, died Wednesday, January 3, 2007, after a short stay at the Sunrise Country Manor in Milford. Elmer had been living in his own cottage at the Linden Village in Milford. The funeral service will be Saturday, 11:30 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church with Rev. John E. Nelson, Jr. officiating. Interment will be on Saturday, at 10:00 A.M. at the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Gass Haney Funeral Home. There will be a family prayer service on Saturday at 11:15 A.M. at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Lutheran Hour, Daily Devotions, or the Christ Lutheran School Building Fund. Elmer Moeller was born January 7, 1912, in Leigh, Nebraska, to Henry and Emma (Doersch) Moeller. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church. Elmer attended school at District 48 and also Christ Lutheran School. On August 27, 1936, Elmer married Leona Cattau at Christ Lutheran Church. He enjoyed working at the Merdian Shop in Columbus and later for Gus Spanhake at Leigh Implement in Leigh, before returning to the farm in 1942. While living in Leigh, he was a member of the Fire Department. Elmer, took great pleasure in helping others with any repairs they may had, was always eager to learn new technologies, and enjoyed instilling that knowledge in others even after moving off of the farm. He was active in Christ Lutheran Church and served on the Christ Lutheran School Board. Elmer enjoyed working the election booths, reading, visiting with friends and family, and playing with his great grandchildren.
