Elaine M. Porter, 83, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Thursday, March 4, 2004 at the Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

The funeral service will be on Monday, March 8, 11:00 A.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Ritter officiating. Interment will in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Verdigre, Nebraska on Monday at 3:00 P.M. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 - 8:00 P.M. and on Monday from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home

Elaine M. Porter was born August 6, 1920 in Verdigre, Nebraska to Ernie E. & Melvina M. (Hawk) Davey. She attended school in Chicago, Illinois. On March 23, 1951 she married Edward E. Porter in Evanston, Illinois. They moved to Columbus in 1951. Elaine was a beautician and a realtor for Armour Realty and later for Becher Curry Realty. She was past president and a life member of the P.T.A. and past president of the Columbus Board of Realtors. Elaine was formerly a member of Harmony Chapter 13, Order of the Eastern Star. She is a member of Naphis Temple of the Daughters of the Nile and was a past president of the Pawnee Nile Club.
