In Memory Of

Robert Hayter

Robert Hayter, 88, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Monday, May 24, 2010, at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Norfolk, Nebraska.

A private family interment will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Bob was born on February 17, 1922 in Ainsworth, Nebraska, to John and Hattie (Cook) Hayter.  He attended school in Ainsworth and graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1939.  He served his country in WWII with the U. S. Army Armored 12th Division as a first class mechanic.  Bob entered the Army on July 21, 1942 and was honorably discharged on January 30, 1946.

He was united in marriage to Naomi Irwin in January of 1948 in O'Neill, Nebraska.  Bob was employed by the Bank of Monroe as President and CEO until 1985 when he retired, but continued doing consultant work for many years.  His favorite hobbies were fishing, playing cards and being with his friends.

several nieces and nephews
