Mathilda "Tillie" H. Goedeken, 82 of Columbus, Nebraska, died Sunday, September 21, 2008, at the Golden Livngcenter in Columbus. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, September 24 at 10:30 AM at Christ Lutheran Church in rural Columbus with Rev. John E. Nelson, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Wednesday at 10:15 AM also at the church. Tillie Goedeken was born March 24, 1926, in rural Platte County, Nebraska, to Fredrick and Minnie (Schmale) Goedeken. She was baptized, confirmed, and attended grade school at Christ Lutheran Church and School. Tillie spent most of her life working with her father and brother on the family farm which she loved. Later on in life, she was a housekeeper for Magdalena "Mag" Bakenhus. For the last 12 years, Tillie has lived at the Golden Livingcenter of Columbus.
