Shortly after his birth, Daxx was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a condition of the thickening of the heart muscle. Daxx underwent heart surgery in early July during which some of the muscle at the bottom of the heart was removed. This surgery seemed to be hopeful, but in early August, Daxx's health took a turn for the worse, and on August 10th was taken to Children's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Daxx was put on life support and was hopeful of a heart transplant. On Monday, September 8, still waiting for the transplant, Daxx was received into the arms of God.

Jeremiah 29:11 reads: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." These were the words that the family put their trust in. The prayers of the family and of friends was that someday Daxx would be happy and healthy, and now he is, in the arms of God.

Our Lil' Soldier

It's a beautiful day up in Heaven. God is rounding up his tiniest lil' soldiers to go live on earth and be born.

One of the sweetest lil' soldiers says to God "I don't want to leave, I like it here and I will miss you." He reassures the scared lil' soldier that everything will be okay, and that he is just going for a visit.

He is still not swayed on this idea. So God, kneels down, and says "How about if you leave half of your heart here with Me and take the other half with you, will that be okay?" The lil' soldier smiles and says "I guess that will work."

But the lil' soldier is still a little scared. He asks "Will I be okay with only half of my heart?" God replies, "Of course you will, I have other lil' soldiers there that will help out, and you will be fine."

Then God gives the lil' soldier more details about His plan, He says "When you are born, your Mommy will be scared, so you will have to be strong, and when you feel weak just remember that I have the other half of your heart. Enjoy you time with you family, play and laugh every day."

"And when its time to come back to Heaven, I will make your heart whole again. Always remember, that you are not broken, just torn between two loves."
